Born in Bellshill in 1959, Sheena Easton is a Grammy Award-winning Scottish singer songwriter. Studying at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, she ultimately decided to pursue teaching rather than performing. But a change of heart in 1979 saw her become the focus of the first British musical reality programmer – The Big Time: Pop Singer – and Sheena Easton hasn’t looked back since.
Since her first single "Modern Girl" debuted in 1980, Easton has found chart success with songs such as "9 to 5," "For Your Eyes Only," "We’ve Got Tonight," "Sugar Walls," "U Got The Look" and "The Arms of Orion". For the last two, Easton duetted with Prince.
The majority of her theatre credits are from Broadway productions. She appeared as Aldonza/Dulcinea in a revival of Man of La Mancha in 1992 alongside Raúl Juliá, and the 1996 revival of Grease as Rizzo. In 2017, Easton made her West End debut in 42nd Street as Dorothy Brock at Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
