Mark Rosenblatt’s debut play, Giant, starring Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe-winner John Lithgow (Sweet Smell of Success, The Crown, Killers of the Flower Moon) and Olivier Award winner Elliot Levey (Cabaret) comes to the Harold Pinter Theatre following rave reviews at the Royal Court last year. Book Giant tickets on London Theatre.
Giant in London tells the story of the famous children’s author, Roald Dahl, and the outcry following an antisemitic article he wrote. The show occurs over a single afternoon at the family home in 1983, shortly before Dahl’s book, The Witches, is released. Dahl must decide if he will apologise or risk his reputation forever.
Lithgow and Levey have both been Olivier nominated for their performances in Giant at the Royal Court. They will be joined by Rachael Stirling (The Divine Mrs S, The Priory, An Ideal Husband) and Richard Hope (The Women in Black, Hijack), who are reprising their roles as Felicity Crosland and Wally Saunders. Further casting is to be announced.
Giant is a play that also has an exceptional creative team including Tony and Olivier-winning director Nicholas Hytner (Carousel, The History Boys), Tony and Olivier-winning theatre designer Bob Crowley (Mary Poppins, An American in Paris), lighting designer Anna Watson (That is Not Who I Am, Imposter 22), and sound designer Alexandra Faye Braithwaite (Bloody Elle, How Not to Drown).

Giant is the highly anticipated debut play from writer and director Mark Rosenblatt. The exciting new play includes a star-studded cast and creative team. As actress Romola Garai said, "Giant is an extraordinary piece of new writing, and I couldn't be more honoured to be part of bringing this fascinating, knotty, complicated, and unafraid piece to audiences for the first time."
Giant is best for children ages 14 and above as it deals with some themes related to antisemitism.
