Japanese cast of 'Six' to perform in West End show this autumn
The actresses will lead the hit production at the Vaudeville Theatre for one week only in November, performing the show in Japanese with English captions.
Otanoshimini! The West End production of SIX will welcome the Japanese cast of the musical from 4-9 November only at the Vaudeville Theatre. They will perform the show in Japanese with English captions, marking the first time SIX will be performed in the U.K. in a different language.
The cast will include Sonim as Aragon, Meimi Tamura and Maho Minamoto alternating as Boleyn, Harumi as Seymour, Eliana and Marie Sugaya alternating as Cleves, Airi Suzuki and Erika Toyohara alternating as Howard, and Sora Kazuki and Ruki Saito alternating as Parr. Aoi Tanaka will be the musical director, and all will be making their West End debuts.
"It’s incredible to see how SIX has resonated with audiences around the world, and we are thrilled to welcome our wonderful Japanese cast members to London so they can reprise the roles they played so brilliantly in Japan," producer Kenny Wax said in a statement. "We, and the incredible current London cast, can’t wait for audiences to experience the Queens in a whole new way."
Created by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, SIX reimagines Henry VIII's six wives as a pop girl group ready to share the stories of their lives — not just their infamous deaths. SIX has played in the West End since 2019 and was nominated for five Olivier Awards, including Best New Musical.
