'The Play That Goes Wrong' announces new West End cast
Mischief Theatre’s Olivier Award-winning show is now celebrating its 11th year in the West End. The team's new show The Comedy About Spies is currently playing at the Noel Coward Theatre.
The Play That Goes Wrong has announced a new West End cast, as the play extends performances through August 2026.
Mischief Theatre’s Olivier and Tony Award-winning show will star Izzy Edmunds-Clarke as Annie, Jack Hardwick as Chris, Robert Jackson as Robert, Jonty Peach as Jonathan, Charlotte Scott as Sandra, Mitesh Soni as Dennis, Tom Wainwright as Max and Ronnie Yorke as Trevor. The understudies include Alex Blackie, Jake Burgum, Kitty Devlin, Louise Hoare and Ed Shamwana. The new cast takes over from 3 June.
In a review for LondonTheatre.co.uk, our critic said: "Everything that can go wrong, it seems, does go wrong for this play, its players and particularly its wobbly, fragile set. But the more it does, of course, the funnier it becomes. It's divinely daft, gloriously preposterous and utterly silly."
The show follows the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society, who are in the middle of rehearsals for a 1920s murder mystery. But with an accident-prone group of thespians in charge, will they make it through to their final curtain call?
