Jesse Eisenberg was born in 1983 in Queens, New York. While at school, he appeared in Roger Dodger, winning Most Promising New Actor at the San Diego film festival. His first professional theatre role was at the age of 16 where he played Michael in the off-Broadway play, The Gathering.
Eisenberg is better known for his roles in feature films such as Zombieland and The Social Network, where he played Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg. He also starred in Now You See Me, starring alongside Michael Caine and the blockbuster Batman V Superman.
In 2011, Eisenberg made his playwright debut at Cherry Lane Theatre where he wrote and starred in Asuncion, directed by Kip Fagan. This was followed by his 2013 play The Revisionist. Eisenberg is also a cast member of the Theater of War, a not-for-profit performing arts company that performs Greek tragedies to military and civilian communities.
Eisenberg’s West End debut was in 2016, starring and writing The Spoils. The London cast included The Big Bang Theory’s Kunal Nayyar and Game of Thrones star Alfie Allen.
