Kunal Nayyar was born in London in 1981, and then moved to New Delhi at the age of three. At 18, Nayyar moved to the US to pursue a degree in Business Finance, before deciding to take a career as a professional actor and attend Temple University, receiving a Master of Fine Arts in Acting.
Nayyar started his theatre career in Los Angeles where he played the role of Navin in Huck and Holden. He then returned to the London to perform in Love’s Labour’s Lost for the Royal Shakespeare Company which then went to Washington with the Shakespeare Theatre Company. He is best known for his role in The Big Bang Theory as Raj Koothrappali. Other television success includes Vijay in Sanjay and Craig and Sendhil in The Mindy Project.
Nayyar made his West End debut in Jesse Eisenberg’s play, The Spoils, Nayyar took on the role of Kalyan alongside Eisenberg and Game of Thrones' Alfie Allen.
