Wendi Peters to star in ‘You Are Here’ UK premiere
The musical will open at Southwark Playhouse in April both in person or as a livestream.
UPDATE: In a tweet from Southwark Playhouse, You Are Here will now play at Southwark Playhouse from 17 May - 12 June.
A brand new musical will reopen Southwark Playhouse in April, starring Wendi Peters. Inspired by the 1969 moon landings, You Are Here will hold in person performances as well as a one-off livestreamed performance during its run.
Written by Brian Hill, You Are Here follows Diana, a Chicago housewife who watches Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin land on the moon. Seeking excitement, a series of unexpected encounters turn one small step into a giant leap for mankind.
Wendi Peters will play Diana, recently starring in Big at the Dominion Theatre. Casting is completed by Rebecca McKinnis as Joan, Phil Adéle as Daniel and Jordan Frazier as Ruby. Music and lyrics are by Neil Bartram, with direction by Matthew Rankcom.
Southwark Playhouse is continuing to livestream new musicals, including Fiver which releases its cast album in March. The world premiere of The Sorcerer's Apprentice, which was due to open at Southwark Playhouse in February will now take place online.
