If you're looking for some family Christmas fun but want to steer clear of panto this year, then the perfect show might be waiting for you at Southwark Playhouse.

Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty's Seussical takes some Doctor Seuss' most loved characters, and mashes them together in a wonderful world of colour, music and energy. Centring on the story of Horton Hears a Who!, you will meet The Grinch, the Cat in the Hat, the Lorax, and Yertle the Turtle in a tale that preaches acceptance and inclusivity.

It's not the first time Seussical has been in London, it ran in the West End at the Arts Theatre in 2012 (and 2013), but this production will be performed in the intimate Large space at Southwark Playhouse with a 12-strong cast and a live band, and director James Tobias is fulfilling a career ambition by staging the play.

Ahead of its run, we dropped into rehearsals with the cast to catch a glimpse of this exciting show.

Seussical is at Southwark Playhouse from 22nd November to 29th December.
