Fresh off its Tony-Award-Winning run, The Great Gatsby, filled with 1920s glitz and glamour, comes to the London Coliseum. Book The Great Gatsby tickets on London Theatre.
The Great Gatsby is a musical based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's beloved 1925 novel of the same name. The show tells the story of Jay Gatsby, who hosts exceptional parties for the rich and famous at his Long Island mansion during the prohibition era Jazz age. However, instead of joining in on all the fun, he spends his time pining after his former lover, Daisy Buchanan.
The musical book is by Kait Kerrigan, with music and lyrics by Tony Award nominees Jason Howland and Nathan Tysen. Hit songs from the show include For Better or Worse, For Her, and Beautiful Little Fool. The show is produced by critically acclaimed producer Chunsoo Shin, who has earned the Korean Pop Culture and Arts Prime Minister Award.
"I am thrilled to bring this timeless, glamourous, and resplendent production to the UK's West End, after such success in the US and on Broadway," Chunsoo Shin said. "The London Coliseum is a spectacular venue that complements the lavish aesthetic and vibrant energy of our show. With its grand architecture and historic charm, it offers the perfect setting to transport audiences back to the opulence of the 1920s."
The Great Gatsby in London is directed by multi-award-winning director Marc Bruni (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical), and choreography is by Dominique Kelley (Mariah’s Magical Christmas Special).
The Great Gatsby's Broadway run was a critical and audience success, earning a Tony Award for Best Costume Design in a Musical. This isn't the first adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel. In fact, in 2013, Baz Luhrmann adapted the story for the screen starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, and Carey Mulligan.
