Full cast announced for 'Backstroke', starring Tamsin Greig and Celia Imrie

Anna Mackmin's new play follows the complex relationship of mother and daughter Beth and Bo, following Beth's admittance to hospital after a stroke.

The full cast has been announced for the world premiere of Anna Mackmin's play Backstroke at the Donmar Warehouse in London. Performances begin on 14 February, running until 12 April. Mackmin also directs.

Joining the previously announced Tamsin Greig (Much Ado About Nothing, Twelfth Night, Alan Bennett's Talking Heads) as Bo and Celia Imrie (The Hothouse, Noises Off, Bridget Jones’s Diary) as Beth, are Lucy Briers (Orlando, Wolf Hall, Top Girls) as Carol, Anita Reynolds (The Comedy of Errors, Twelfth Night, The Importance of Being Earnest) as Jill, and Georgina Rich (Heartstopper, Dirty Dancing) as Paulina. Chloe Hart and Rhashan Stone also feature in filmed scenes within the production.

The creative team includes Lez Brotherston (designer), Paule Constable (lighting designer), Christopher Shutt (sound designer), Gino Ricardo Green (video designer) Gino Ricardo Green, and Scarlett Mackmin (choreographer).
