Born in Hackney in 1981, Paloma Faith’s first desire to become a performer came after she was encouraged to dance by her mother, and took weekly ballet classes. She went on to study for a degree in contemporary dance, and then competing an MA in theatre directing at Central Saint Martins.
She later developed an interest in singing and signed a record deal with Epic Records for her first album *Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful*? which features the songs “Stone Cold Sober," “New York” and “Smoke and Mirrors." She has gone on to release a further three singles, and has received four nominations for British Female Solo Artist at the Brit Awards, winning in 2015.
Prior to her singing career taking off, Faith was cast in the 2007 British comedy St Trinians, as well as the 2009 fantasy film The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. She has also acted on television, in the BBC series Blandings (based on PG Woodhouse’s Blanding Castle stories) and the Channel 4 series Coming Up.
