Tom Holland to star in 'Romeo & Juliet' in the West End
Tom Holland is best known for playing Peter Parker in the superhero franchise Spider-Man. He made his stage debut as the title role in Billy Elliot The Musical.
Tom Holland will lead the new West End production of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet. The production will be directed by Jamie Lloyd and opens at the Duke of York's Theatre on 11 May.
Holland, who is known for playing Peter Parker in the superhero franchise Spider-Man, will take on the role of Romeo.
He made his stage debut as the title role in Billy Elliot The Musical.
On the announcement, Lloyd said, “Tom Holland is one of the greatest, most exciting young actors in the world. It is an honour to welcome him back to the West End.”
The play includes text editing by Nima Taleghani, set and costume design by Soutra Gilmour, lighting design by Jon Clark, sound design by Ben and Max Ringham, video design and cinematography by Nathan Amzi and Joe Ransom, composition by Michael ‘Mikey J’ Asante, movement direction by Sarah Golding and Yukiko Masui (SAY), intimacy coordination by Ingrid Mackinnon, associate direction by Jonathan Glew, and associate design by Rachel Wingate.
The Jamie Lloyd Company will offer 10,000 tickets priced at £25 and under, with 5,000 of these exclusively for under 30s, key workers, and those receiving government benefits. Further information is to be announced.

Romeo & Juliet will run at the Duke of York's Theatre from 11 May – 3 August.
