Self Esteem AKA Rebecca Lucy Taylor will star in a "quasi-theatrical experience" in the West End ahead of the release of her new album A Complicated Woman this April. The show will open at the Duke of York’s Theatre on 16 April for a strictly limited run of performances.

Created by Rebecca Lucy Taylor and Tony Award-winning designer Tom Scutt, who also directs, A Complicated Woman Live will "harness the power and energy of a gig but present it through a theatrical format."

The rest of the creative team includes choreography by Stuart Rogers, musical direction by Mike Park, lighting design by Matt Daw, sound design by Max and Ben Ringham, associate direction and movement by Jenny Ogilvie, and associate costume design by Lucy Martin.

Self Esteem will release her new album A Complicated Woman on 25 April. It follows her 2021 album Prioritise Pleasure, which received BRIT and Mercury Prize nominations.

Taylor played Sally Bowles in Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club in 2023, opposite Jake Shears' Emcee. She also composed the music for Suzie Miller's Prima Facie, which ran in the West End in 2022 and starred Jodie Comer.
