New Cast "Of Mice and Men" for transfer to Old Vic 3 Feb 2004


A new cast has been announced for John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men, which transfers to the Old Vic from 3 Feb 2004.

Joe McGann and Andrew Schofield will take over the roles of Lennie and George (Played by Matthew Kelly & George Costigan at the Savoy Theatre last year) Other new cast members include : Oscar James, Sandra Reinton, Sean Baker, Stephen Casey, Nick Stringer.

The Birmingham Repertory Theatre's production is directed by Jonathan Church, designed by Simon Higlett, with lighting by Tim Mitchell.

The play is set against the backdrop of America's Great Depression, George and Lennie are determined to buy a small farm of their own after years of ekeing out a living as itinerant farm workers. The two friends soon discover the flip side of their American Dream and the friendship is tested to its limits.
