Michael Flatley’s Celtic Tiger to stream from 3 July
The Irish dance show is the latest from The Shows Must Go On series.
Celtic Tiger, the high-energy Irish dance show created by and starring Riverdance sensation Michael Flatley is the next stage production to stream for free as part of the ongoing The Shows Must Go On series. It will be available for just 48 hours from 7pm BST on Friday 3 July.
First seen in the New York in 2005 prior to tours of North America, Europe and Asia, Celtic Tiger was directed, produced and choreographed by its star, Michael Flatley. Fused with Irish dance and music, it examines Ireland's history of civil unrest and the struggles and triumphs that led to that country's freedom.
At the time of its premiere, Flatley said of the show "It is very fast moving, powerful and hard-hitting and I think that it is something that you have never seen before."
The show was recorded in Birmingham and Budapest, and boasts a large company of dancers with a live band and epic staging.
Born in Detroit, Michael Flatley first rose to fame in 1994 as the star and choreographer of the worldwide dance phenomenon Riverdance. Credited with reinventing traditional Irish dance, world tours of subsequent shows including Lord of the Dance and Feet of Flames have seen him playing to over 60 million people across 60 countries globally.
