Jamie Lloyd season including The Seagull and A Doll’s House postponed
The Jamie Lloyd Company have announced today that both productions of The Seagull and A Doll's House, originally scheduled to play at the Playhouse Theatre have been postponed. However, it has also been confirmed that Emilia Clarke and Jessica Chastain will still lead the casts of The Seagull and A Doll's House respectively.
Speaking about the postponement, Jamie Lloyd said: "This is, of course, an incredibly challenging time for everyone, but we are looking forward to presenting our season to audiences in the future. I'm thrilled that Emilia Clarke and Jessica Chastain will lead The Seagull and A Doll's House as soon as we can get back into the theatre."
Emilia Clarke will star as Nina in Anya Reiss' adaptation of The Seagull, with full casting and dates for the new production to be announced. First performed in March 2020, The Seagull played a limited number of performances, before theatres were shut down on 16th March.
Jessica Chastain will lead the company of Frank McGuinness' adaptation of A Doll's House, with casting and dates to be confirmed.
Jamie Lloyd's latest season at the Playhouse Theatre began with James McAvoy leading the cast of Cyrano de Bergerac, which received five Olivier Award nominations including best revival of a play.
