Succession star and multi-award winning actor Brian Cox returns to the stage in the new play The Score as Johann Sebastian Bach, written by Oliver Cotton and directed by Trevor Nunn, running at Theatre Royal Haymarket from 20 February to 26 April 2025.

In 1740s Prussia, Johann Sebastian Bach enters the court of the erratic Frederick II, which leads to a battle of wits and wills. As society changes and the Age of Enlightenment dawns and their differences in thought about religion, war, and the nature of genius simmers, The Score documents their legendary meeting.

Nicole Ansari-Cox will join Cox on stage as Anna, Bach's wife.

Additionally, Theatre Royal Haymarket will be presenting the iconic play The Deep Blue Sea, by Terence Rattigan and starring Tamsin Greig and Finbar Lynch. Originally presented by Theatre Royal Bath, this acclaimed production directed by Lindsay Posner.

Rattigan's memorable melodrama takes place over the course of a day and examines the intense relationships between Hester, the daughter of a clergyman and who has left her alcoholic husband, and Freddie, an RAF pilot.

Based on Rattigan's own tempestuous queer relationship, The Deep Blue Sea's devastating tale of passion will run 7 May to 21 June 2025.
