Sigourney Weaver

Sigourney Weaver makes her West End debut in Olivier-winning director Jamie Lloyd's production of The Tempest, at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in the West End.

She gained fame with her role as Ellen Ripley in Alien (1979) and its sequels, as well as Gorillas in the Mist (1988), Working Girl (1988), and Avatar (2009).

Weaver's stage career began in the 1970s, with early work at the prestigious Yale Repertory Theatre. She received critical acclaim for her Broadway debut in The Merchant of Venice (1984), earning a Tony nomination for her portrayal of Jessica. Weaver has also starred in Hysterical Blindness (2002), Vinegar Tom (1978), and The Last Night of Ballyhoo (1997), among others.
