All the West End stars who will perform in BBC Musicals: The Greatest Show

Celebrating the art of musical theatre, the BBC will be presenting a series of musical events. As part of the broadcast, BBC Musicals: The Greatest Show will be available to watch on 7 February 2021. The list of West End actors has been announced, all performing at the London Palladium and it's a stellar lineup.

West End musicals taking part in BBC Musicals: The Greatest Show 

Ivano Turco

West End newcomer Ivano Turco will play Sebastian in the world premiere of Cinderella at the Gillian Lynne Theatre. For the televised event, he'll sing "Only You, Lonely You", featuring music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by David Zippel.

Layton Williams

Previously playing the title role in Everybody's Talking About Jamie, Layton Williams will reprise his West End performance to sing "The Wall in My Head." One of the longest-running musicals in the capital, Everybody's Talking About Jamie continues to wow at the Apollo Theatre, set to return from March 2021.

Michael Ball

The cast of Hairspray will perform the finale number "You Can't Stop the Beat," including Michael Ball who reprises his Olivier Award-winning performance as Edna Turnblad. Hairspray will finally return to the London Coliseum in April 2021.

Mazz Murray, Kate Graham, and Jo Napthine

Mazz Murray, Kate Graham, and Jo Napthine will get audiences at home having the time of their lives, performing "Dancing Queen" from Mamma Mia! The London production has been running for over two decades, featuring ABBA hits including "Waterloo" and "Take A Chance On Me."

Christine Allado and Alexia Khadime

Exclusively for Radio 2, Christine Allado and Alexia Khadime will sing "When You Believe" from The Prince Of Egypt. The West End production opened at the Dominion Theatre in February 2020.

SIX queens

Having taken the world by storm, the Six queens will rule the London Palladium stage to sing the title song. Six performances are currently postponed at the Lyric Theatre, but will return.

Aisha Jawando

Another British world premiere production will be celebrated during the BBC event, as Tina Turner's presence is felt on stage. Currently playing Tina Turner, Aisha Jawando will sing "(Simply) The Best."

Kerry Ellis

Kerry Ellis made history as the first British actress to play Elphaba. She'll reprise her acclaimed performance to sing "Defying Gravity" from Wicked, currently at the Apollo Victoria Theatre.

Gavin Spokes

Originating the role of King George III in Hamilton, Gavin Spokes will sing "You'll Be Back." The Pulitzer Prize-winning musical began performances at the Victoria Palace Theatre in December 2017. 

Ramin Karimloo

Ramin Karimloo will sing "The Music of the Night" from The Phantom of the Opera. The globally renowned musical is set to return to Her Majesty's Theatre from June 2021, starring Killian Donnelly as the Phantom. 

Lea Salonga

Having performed in the West End and on Broadway, Lea Salonga will perform as part of the BBC event. She'll sing "I Dreamed A Dream" from Les Miserables. 

Sam Tutty

Sam Tutty won the Olivier Award for his performance as Evan Hansen in Dear Evan Hansen. For this event, he'll sing "You Will Be Found." 

Amanda Holden and Sheridan Smith

In 2020, Amanda Holden released a new album filled with musical theatre songs. For the BBC event, she'll sing "I Know Him So Well" from Chess alongside Sheridan Smith. 

Nicole Raquel Dennis

Nicole Raquel Dennis will play Effie White in a national tour of Dreamgirls, which is currently postponed. To whet our appetites, Dennis will sing the showstopper "And I Am Telling You." 

Sheridan Smith

Sheridan Smith gave an Olivier Award-nominated performance in Funny Girl as Fanny Brice. For the upcoming concert, Smith will reprise the role singing "Don't Rain On My Parade."

Nicole Scherzinger

Nicole Scherzinger previously gave a stellar performance as Grizabella in Cats at the London Palladium. She'll return to the Palladium for the BBC event, singing "Never Enough" from The Greatest Showman, written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. 

Josh Groban

Exclusively for Radio 2, Josh Groban will sing "The Impossible Dream" from Man Of La Mancha. Based on Don Quixote, the musical was last staged at the London Coliseum in 2019, starring Kelsey Grammer and Cassidy Janson. 

Elaine Paige

Exclusively for Radio 2, Elaine Paige is going to perform "As If We Never Said Goodbye" from Sunset Boulevard. In 1994, she played Norma Desmond in the West End production, later playing the role on Broadway. 

Members of the public can get involved too, singing parts of "Any Dream Will Do" from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Jac Yarrow will lead the performance, and here's how you can sing along. 

Who is appearing in the ensemble? 

As well as the soloists taking part in the concert, an ensemble made up of West End stars will also take part. The ensemble is completed by Sarah Accomando, Nicole Baisdon, Jonathan Bentley, Beth Berwick-Lowe, Jon Boydon, Ian Carlyle, Dean Chisnall, Scott Garnham, Erin Hair, Emma Hatton, Jenna Lee James, Sejal Keshwala, Connor McAllister, Joel Montague, Nathaniel Morrison and Miria Parvin.
