The Yeast Nation musical follows the original yeast colony who try to ensure immortality. As they start on their quest, they realise Love is a bigger enemy than first assumed.

The eight-person company includes Shane Convery, Mari McGinlay, Sarah Slimani, Marisa Harris, James Gulliford, Christopher Howell, Stephen Lewis-Johnston and Hannah Nuttall.

The Yeast Nation cast features four graduates in their debut role. “Now more than ever it is the duty of producers and directors to look after the future of the industry, making commitments to hire graduates who have had the most remarkable struggle over the last two years, and are now finding their feet in an incredibly changed, shifted landscape of creativity,” said Yeast Nation director Benji Sperring.

Yeast Nation features a book, music and lyrics by Greg Kotis and Mark Hollman. The show features movement by Lucie Pankhurst, lighting design by Nic Farman, and sound design by Adam Fisher.

Yeast Nation is at Southwark Playhouse.
