World premiere of ‘The Poltergeist’ coming to Southwark Playhouse
All three performances will be livestreamed around the world.
UPDATE: In a tweet by Southwark Playhouse on 5 November, performances of The Poltergeist will be livestreamed on 20-21 November, rather than performed to an in-person audience.
As well as Southwark Playhouse currently home to The Last Five Years, there's future shows to look forward to, including the world premiere of The Poltergeist. Philip Ridley's one-man play will play three performances at the off-West End venue from 20-21 November.
The Poltergeist follows Sasha, a young man who is destined to take the art world by storm. At 15, he's taking over the world, so why is he in a stationer's now? Exploring art, family relationships and memory, The Poltergeist asks questions about respecting what we have and don't have.
Joseph Potter will star as Sasha, previously appearing in Candida at the Orange Tree Theatre. Wiebke Green directs the production.
All performances will be staged in a socially distant auditorium at Southwark Playhouse, with each showing available to watch via a livestream. Information on livestreamed performances can be found here.
