The Tony Award-winning play Stereophonic will transfer to the West End in May 2025, as performances end on Broadway this Sunday.

David Adjmi's play made history by earning 13 Tony Award nominations in June 2024, the most of any play ever, winning five including Best Play, Best Director, Best Featured Actor, Best Scenic Design, and Best Sound Design.

Three of the show’s longtime cast members will lead the West End production: Eli Gelb as Grover, Andrew R. Butler as Charlie, and Chris Stack as Simon.

Set in a music studio in California in 1976, Stereophonic follows the agony and the ecstasy of a band during the creation of their latest album. The pressure of stardom could spark their breakup — or their breakthrough. The show features original songs by Grammy Award winner Arcade Fire’s Will Butler.

The creative team includes Daniel Aukin, (director), David Zinn (scenic designer), Enver Chakartash (costume designer), Jiyoun Chang (lighting designer), Will Butler and Justin Craig (Orchestrations), Ryan Rumery (sound designer), Justin Craig (music director) and Robert Pickens & Katie Gell (hair & wig design).

Full casting is yet to be announced.
