‘The Comeback’ begins performances at the Noel Coward Theatre
Comedy duo The Pin make their West End debut tonight.
The first performance of The Comeback will take place at the Noel Coward Theatre tonight. Ben Ashenden and Alex Owen will both make their West End debuts in the production, with performances from 8 December - 3 Jan. 2021.
The Comeback tickets are on sale now.
The comedy play marks the debut play from The Pin, a British duo who have been likened to Morecambe and Wise. The Comeback follows Alex and Ben as they perform in the warm-up spot for a rival act. At first, they're not pleased to be performing in front of a sleepy, sparse audience. However, the action picks up when there's a Hollywood director in the audience, with Alex and Ben doing all they can to impress.
Each night, the cast will be joined by a surprise celebrity guest star, who will play a cameo role in the production. Details on who will join The Comeback have yet to be announced.
Emily Burns directs The Comeback, previously working with The Pin in 2018 for their production, Backstage. Burns has also been associate director for Hansard and Antony & Cleopatra at the National Theatre, as well as A Midsummer Night's Dream and Julius Caesar at the Bridge Theatre.
The Comeback is the first production to open at the Noel Coward Theatre since theatres were shut in March 2020. It is one of numerous plays either beginning or resuming performances in December, with more information here.
