‘The Choir of Man’ to open in the West End
There's a real working bar on stage!
The all-singing, all-dancing pub concert The Choir of Man will transfer to the Arts Theatre. The Choir of Man begins previews at the Arts Theatre from 29 October, with an opening night on 9 November. The Choir of Man performances are currently scheduled at the Arts Theatre to 13 Feb. 2022, and The Choir of Man tickets are on sale now.
The 80-minute production is billed as a "riotously feel-good homage to that gathering place we've all missed so much", with a real working bar on stage. A cast of nine will sing chart-topping songs from artists including Sia, Adele, Paul Simon and Guns 'N'Roses. Full casting details for The Choir of Man are to be announced.
The Choir of Man has just finished a London run at the Underbelly. It's the brainchild of Nic Doodson and Andrew Kay, the team behind The Magnets and the Soweto Gospel Choir.
The creative team for The Choir of Man includes a book by Ben Norris, direction by Nic Doodson, music supervision by Jack Blume, choreography by Freddie Huddleston, lighting design by Richard Dinnen and costume design by Verity Sadler.
The Choir of Man continues a tradition of Underbelly shows transferring to the Arts Theatre. The last was Six, which was at the Underbelly at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2018.
The Choir of Man is at the Arts Theatre from 29 October.
