Sebastien Torkia to lead ‘Berlusconi’ musical at Southwark Playhouse Elephant

The Matilda actor will portray the Italian politician in a musical world premiere.

This cast is bellissimo! Check out the full cast for the world premiere of Berlusconi at Southwark Playhouse Elephant. Berlusconi begins previews on 25 March, ahead of an opening night on 29 March, and performances to 26 April.

Instead of honing on the Italian politician and media tycoon's life, Berlusconi puts the microphone on three women who share their side of the story while Silvio Berlusconi was in office.

Sebastien Torkia will play Silvio Berlusconi. He recently played Mr. Wormwood in Matilda the Musical. The ten-strong cast includes Sally Ann Triplett as Ilda, Emma Hatton as Veronica, Natalie Kassanga as Bella, Susan Fay as Mama Rosa, Jenny Fitzpatrick as Fama, McCallam Connell as the Judge, John Conroy as Luigi, Gavin Wilkinson as Vladimir Putin and Matthew Woodyatt as Antonio.

James Grieve directs Ricky Simmonds and Simon Vaughan’s original musical, with choreography by Rebecca Howell, set and costume design by Lucy Osborne, lighting design by Oliver Fenwick, and sound design by Dan Samson.

Southwark Playhouse Elephant is a new theatre opening in south London in 2023. The theatre opens with The Walworth Farce in February, followed by Berlusconi.
