RuPaul’s Drag Race star Alyssa Edwards to make West End debut
She brings her new show to the Vaudeville Theatre for one week only.
RuPaul's Drag Race queen Alyssa Edwards will make her West End debut later this year with a brand new stage show. Titled Alyssa, Memoirs of a Queen!, she'll perform at the Vaudeville Theatre from 7 - 13 June.
Labelled as one of the "most powerful drag queens in America" by New York Magazine, Edwards is a world-renowned performer, but what did it take to earn global acclaim? Not much is known about the new show, but press material states "Ms. Edwards now brings her fully realized autobiographical extravaganza, complete with iconic costumes, high kicks and splits, phenomenal dancers and outrageous tongue pops."
Alyssa Edwards is the drag queen persona of Justin Johnson, who owns and runs an award-winning dance studio that was recently featured in Netflix's Dancing Queen. As Alyssa, she's performed across Europe, Asia, North America and South America, appearing on season five of RuPaul's Drag Race and the second season of the all-stars version.
Drag queens will be performing throughout the West End in 2021, as Death Drop reopens at the Garrick Theatre. Willam and Latrice Royale will make their West End debuts in the production, with Death Drop tickets on sale now.
