Rip It Up – The 60’s to transfer to the Garrick Theatre
Rip It Up - The 60's is set to transfer to the West End with a 16 week run at the Garrick Theatre in 2019.
The show has recently toured the UK and brought the sights and sounds of the 1960s to audiences across the country. With a cast of singers, dancers and acrobats, the leading cast members are made up of contestants from previous series of Strictly Come Dancing.
After touring the country with Rip It Up - The 60's, Louis Smith will reprise his role, best known for winning a silver medal at the Olympic Games in 2016. Performing alongside Louis Smith, Harry Judd and Aston Merrygold also star in the show after worldwide success in British boybands McFly and JLS respectively.
Louis Smith has recently announced his retirement from competitive gymnastics. Commenting on his time in the sport, Smith said his sporting career "is something I will forever cherish and for which I am eternally grateful".
Joining the cast for the West End transfer is Jay McGuiness, after winning Strictly Come Dancing in 2015. On joining the show, McGuinness said "Louis, Aston and Harry put on an amazing show touring with the 60's and I'm so grateful to be joining them. I can't wait for me and the lads to sit right in the middle of the West End and Rip. It. Up".
Rip It Up - The 60's will play for a limited engagement of 16 weeks at the Garrick Theatre, opening on 7th February 2019.
Rip It Up - The 60's tickets will be on sale on 9th November 2018.
Rip It Up - The 60's will run at the Garrick Theatre from 7th February 2019 to 2nd June 2019.
