Paul Whitehouse to return as Grandad in ‘Only Fools and Horses: The Musical’
He’ll be back in January.
Now this is lovely jubbly news. Paul Whitehouse will return to play Grandad in Only Fools and Horses: The Musical from 9 January. The musical continues at Theatre Royal Haymarket with performances through 29 April.
Whitehouse will assume the role from Les Dennis, who plays his final performance on 7 January. “I can’t wait to be back in Grandad’s armchair next year after a bit of a break - many thanks to Les Dennis who’s been keeping it warm for me!” said Whitehouse.
Based on the popular BBC sitcom of the same name, Only Fools and Horses: The Musical follows Del Boy, Rodney, and the rest of the Trotter gang on their newest adventures.
Tom Bennett and Ryan Hutton play Del Boy and Rodney respectively, joined by Ashleigh Gray as Raquel, Nicola Munns as Marlene and Cassandra, Craig Berry as Boycie, Lee VG as Trigger, Adrian Irvine as Denzil, Danny Bayne as Mickey Pearce and Danny Driscoll, and Andrew Bryant as Mike The Barman and Tony Driscoll.
Christopher Arkeston, Marion Campbell, Wesley Charles, Leanne Garretty, Ian Gareth Jones, Chris Kiely, Danny Lane, Andy Mace, Melanie Marshall, Gemma Maclean, Darryl Paul and Mark Pearce complete the cast.
Paul Whitehouse and Jim Sullivan co-write Only Fools and Horses: The Musical, with direction by Caroline Jay Ranger, music by John Sullivan and Chas Hodges, choreography by Denise Ranger, design by Liz Ascroft, lighting by Richard G Jones, and sound design by Rory Madden.
