Olivier Award Winners Announced - Matilda Dominates!
Winners of the 36th Olivier Awards (formerly Laurence Olivier Awards) have been announced, with Matilda The Musical dominating by taking a record 7 awards - Best Musical, Best Actor in a Musical, Best Director, the 4 Matildas aged 10 - 12 sharing Best Actress in a Musical, Best Choreography, Best Set Design and Best Sound Design. This is a new record number of wins by a single show, beating the previous best of Nicholas Nickleby, which won in six categories in 1980.
The 2012 Ceremony was held at the Royal Opera House on Sunday 15 April 2012 hosted by Michael Ball and Imelda Staunton.
