Michael Gambon lends voice to Jamie Lloyd’s Pinter season
Legendary British actor Michael Gambon has lent his voice to the first production of Jamie Lloyd's Pinter at the Pinter season.
As part of Mountain Language - which is about four prisoners not allowed to speak their own language - the actor's voice will be used as the part of The Guard.
Gambon, whose credits include playing Professor Dumbledore in all-but-one of the Harry Potter films, starred in the premiere of the play in 1988 opposite Miranda Richardson at the National Theatre, as well as Pinter's plays Betrayal, The Caretaker and Old Times.
His part has been pre-recorded, and he will not appear on stage in the production, which does star Paapa Essiedu, Kate O'Flynn, Jonjo O'Neill, Antony Sher and Maggie Steed.
As part of the first production, the plays One for the Road, New World Order and Ashes to Ashes will also be performed.
The second production, to run in rep with Pinter One, features the plays The Lover and The Collection. It stars David Suchet, John Macmillan, Hayley Squires and Russell Tovey.
Speaking to LondonTheatre.co.uk earlier this week, Suchet said he was hugely excited to be a part of the season, which he considered "privilege". Click here to read the full interview.
