‘Matilda the Musical’ announces new West End cast from September 2022

Victoria Alsina, Laurel Sumberg and Heidi Williams will join Maisie Mardle in the title role of Matilda.

Lauren Byrne will take over the role of Miss Honey from Carly Thoms. Byrne recently starred in Cinderella at the Gillian Lynne Theatre. Rakesh Boury and Amy Ellen Richardson will join the company as Mr and Mrs Wormwood.

Elliot Harper will continue as Miss Trunchbull and Landi Oshinowo will continue as Mrs Phelps.

The Matilda adult cast includes Felipe Bejarano, Angeline Bell, Oliver Bingham, Liberty Buckland, Thea Bunting, Michael Gardiner, Aaron Jenkins, Kate Kenrick, Sam Lathwood, Connor Lewis, Dianté Lodge, Kira McPherson, Gemma Scholes, Alistair So and James Wolstenholme.

The Matilda childrens cast includes Mia Atkinson, Leo Babet, Florence Burt, Poppy Caton, Zuri-Michel Charalambou, Kylan Denis, Brodie Edwards, Jude Farrant, Riotafari Gardner, Finley Hartlett, Lily Hanna, Tia Isaac, Miley Kayongo, Shayla McCormack, Isabelle Mullallay, Jasmine Nyenya, Raphaella Philbert, Jack Philpott, Riley Plummer, Jasmine Pottinger-Scott, Ashton Robertson, Leon Saunders, Andrei Shen-U Shen, Noah Swer-Fox and Lucia Wratten.

Based on the Roald Dahl novel of the same name, Matilda the Musical follows Matilda Wormwood, a gifted child who uses her powerful mind to help save the day at her school, Crunchem Hall. Find out more about Matilda the Musical in London.

A Matilda musical film adaptation will premiere at the BFI London Film Festival on 5 October, ahead of a cinema release on 2 December.

Matilda the Musical is written by Dennis Kelly, with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin and developed and directed by Matthew Warchus. The show features scenic design by Rob Howell, choreography by Peter Darling, lighting by Hugh Vanstone and sound by Simon Baker.
