‘Legally Blonde’ announces lead casting at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre
The production kicks off the 90th anniversary season.
Omigod you guys! Find out the lead casting for Legally Blonde in London this summer. Legally Blonde begins previews at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre on 13 May, ahead of an opening night on 20 May and performances to 2 July. Legally Blonde tickets are on sale now.
Courtney Bowman will lead the cast as Harvard law graduate, Elle Woods. Bowman’s West End credits include Anne Boleyn in Six, and Pritti Pasha in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.
The Legally Blonde cast includes Michael Ahomka-Lindsay as Emmett, Lauren Drew as Brooke, Vanessa Fisher as Vivienne, Isaac Hesketh as Margot, Nadine Higgin as Paulette, Alžbeta Matyšáková as Enid, Eugene McCoy as Callahan, Grace Mouat as Pilar, Alistair Toovey as Warner, and Hannah Yun Chamberlain as Serena. The full Legally Blonde cast will be revealed at a later date.
Based on the film of the same name, Legally Blonde follows fashion merchandising major Elle Woods as she enrols at Harvard Law School to pursue her sweetheart, Warner Huntington III. While studying at college, Elle realises that being true to herself will never go out of style.
Legally Blonde premiered in the West End in 2009, starring Sheridan Smith as Elle Woods. The musical features a book by Heather Hach, music and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin.
Six director Lucy Moss will direct Legally Blonde. The creative team includes choreography by Ellen Kane, set design by Laura Hopkins, costume design by Jean Chan, lighting design by Phillip Gladwell and sound design by Tony Gayle.
Legally Blonde will be the first production in this summer’s season at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. The season includes 101 Dalmatians and Antigone. Find out more about the season here.
