No need to stay up for this news. Jake Wood will take over the role of Ben in 2:22 - A Ghost Story at the Lyric Theatre to 23 April.

Jake Wood joins the company from 26 January. For all performances to 26 January, understudy Ben Cutler plays Ben.

“Due to illness during the rehearsal period, Hugo Chegwin has sadly had to withdraw from the production. We are delighted to welcome Jake Wood back to the 2:22 family,” said producers.

Jake Wood starred in the original company alongside Lily Allen, Julia Chan and Hadley Fraser. “Danny Robins’ script is funny, touching, and so entertaining and easily the best play I have ever read. If you’ve seen the show before, come back and see it again and I promise that you will enjoy it just as much as I know I will the second time around,” said Wood.

The Olivier-nominated play follows Jenny and her husband Sam as they invite friends over to their new house. To find out if their house is haunted, Jenny, Sam, and their friends stay up to 2:22am to discover the truth.

Matthew Dunster directs Cheryl as Jenny, Louise Ford as Lauren, and Scott Karim as Sam.

2:22 - A Ghost Story features set design by Anna Fleischle, costume design by Cindy Lin, lighting design by Lucy Carter, and sound design by Ian Dickinson for Autograph Sound.

2:22 - A Ghost Story is at the Lyric Theatre.
