‘Guys & Dolls’ to open at the Bridge Theatre

Nicholas Hytner will direct the venue’s first musical.

Luck be a lady, tonight! Guys & Dolls returns to London in 2023 in a new production at the Bridge Theatre. Guys & Dolls begins previews on 27 Feb. 2023, ahead of an opening night on 9 March and initial performances to 2 September.

The upcoming Guys & Dolls musical at the Bridge Theatre will be performed in an immersive setting, allowing audiences to experience the Manhattan streets and Havana bars in the heart of London.

Nicholas Hytner will direct Guys & Dolls at the Bridge Theatre. The production marks the first musical to be staged in the central London location.

Guys & Dolls is based on Damon Runyon’s 1931 novel of the same name, and features a book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, and music and lyrics by Frank Loesser. Guys & Dolls songs include “Sit Down, You’re Rocking the Boat,” and “A Bushel and a Peck.”

The show will feature designs by Bunny Christie, choreography by Arlene Phillips, lighting design by Paule Constable, and sound design by Paul Arditti. Guys & Dolls casting will be announced at a later date.

Upcoming shows at the Bridge Theatre include The Southbury Child and John Gabriel Borkman.
