Further casting announced for & Juliet at the Shaftesbury Theatre
Further casting has been announced for the upcoming production of & Juliet at the Shaftesbury Theatre, opening later this year.
Inspired by William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, & Juliet looks at what would have happened if the young female were to put down the dagger during the fateful scene. Along with the Nurse and a group of close friends, Juliet travels to Paris in search of a new life, taking control of her own story.
Oliver Tompsett will play the role of Mr Shakespeare, most recently playing the role of Charlie Price in Kinky Boots at the Adelphi Theatre. Cassidy Janson joins Tompsett as Mrs Shakespeare, who is set to star in Man of La Mancha at the London Coliseum as Aldonza and Dulcinea. Currently starring in Wicked as Madame Morrible, Melanie La Barrie will play the Nurse.
The cast will also feature Jocasta Almgill, Josh Baker, Alishia Blake, Rhian Duncan, Ivan De Freitas, Danielle Fiamanya, Jordan Luke Gage, Kieran Lai, Nathan Lorainey-Dineen, Arun Blair-Mangat, Tim Mahendran, Jaye Marshall, Grace Mouat, Antoine Murray-Straughan, Kerri Norville, Christopher Parkinson, Dillon Scott-Lewis, Kirstie Skivington and Alex Tranter.
They join a previously announced Miriam Teak-Lee who will play the title role, in a musical with a soundtrack featuring chart-topping songs by Max Martin including "Love Me Like You Do" by Ellie Goulding and "Baby One More Time" by Britney Spears.
& Juliet is at the Shaftesbury Theatre from 2nd November.
& Juliet tickets will go on sale at 10am on Monday 11th February.
