‘Frozen’ opens at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in August, official pictures released today
The production will be the newest Disney musical to open in London.
Frozen will open at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London from 27 August, the first musical at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane since refurbishment began in 2019. As well as Frozen beginning performances this summer, photos have also been released showing the cast in costume.
Based on the 2013 Academy Award-winning Disney film, Frozen tells of sisters Elsa and Anna, as Elsa runs away from a kingdom to curb her icy powers. The film won two Academy Awards including best animated feature and best original song, with music by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, including "Let It Go" and "For The First Time in Forever." In 2019, Frozen 2 was released, which is the highest grossing animated film of all time.
Frozen performances are currently scheduled at Theatre Royal Drury Lane from 27 August - 3 April, with an official opening night scheduled for 8 September.
Casting includes Samantha Barks as Elsa and Stephanie McKeon as Anna. Obioma Ugoala plays Kristoff, with Oliver Ormson as Hans, Craig Gallivan as Olaf, Richard Frame as Weselton, and Mikayla Jade and Ashley Birchall alternating the role of Sven.
Emily-Mae, Gabriel Mokake, Joshua St. Clair, Jacqui Sanchez, Jak Skelly, Jeremy Batt, Cameron Burt, Lauren Chia, Laura Emmitt, Hannah Fairclough, Danielle Fiamanya, Chris Fung, Matt Gillett, Joe Griffiths-Brown, Emily Lane, Justin-Lee Jones, Jason Leigh Winter, Jacob Maynard, Leisha Mollyneaux, Sarah O'Connor, Jemma Revell, Jake Small, Kerry Spark, Isabel Snaas, Monica Swayne, and Anna Woodside complete the Frozen cast.
Frozen is at Theatre Royal Drury Lane from 27 August.
