‘Dirty Dancing’ to return to the Dominion Theatre
Get ready to have the time of your life!
Dirty Dancing is back! After Dirty Dancing transported audiences to Kellerman’s earlier this year, the hit musical will return to the West End once more. Dirty Dancing is at the Dominion Theatre from 18 January to 29 Apr. 2023. Book Dirty Dancing tickets on London Theatre.
The Dirty Dancing musical takes inspiration from the 1987 film of the same name. Dirty Dancing follows 17-year-old Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman as she heads on a family holiday to New York’s Catskill Mountains. While there, she meets and falls for Johnny Castle, the resort’s dance instructor. Johnny and Baby have the summer of their lives, but it’s not without its ups and downs.
There’s 35 songs in Dirty Dancing, including songs from the Dirty Dancing film like “She’s Like the Wind,” “Do You Love Me?,” and the Grammy-winning track “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life.” Find out everything you need to know about Dirty Dancing in London.
In a Dirty Dancing review on London Theatre, our critic said: “Every line that you loved, every song, every dance step is faithfully re-created. If you want to escape the present (and why wouldn't you), it's irresistible theatrical time travel. [It’s] complete with glittering pink signs, lovingly re-created details and the famous end lift.”
Dirty Dancing casting is to be announced at a later date. The show features direction by Federico Bellone, costume design by Jennifer Irwin, lighting design by Valerio Tiberi, sound design by Armando Vertullo, and choreography by Austin Wilks.
