In a 2021 Cinderella review for London Theatre, our critic said: "Director Laurence Connor's production is neat and precise, complete with a jaw-dropping set piece during the ball and eye-popping costumes from Tylesova... Happily ever after is certainly due for the rebranding it's getting at the Gillian Lynne. Here's to a new kind of fairytale."

Set in a fictional town named Belleville, Cinderella reimagines the titular character as a punk princess who is ousted from her charming town. Even though she doesn't conform to Belleville's beauty standards, Cinderella continues to fit in, staying true to herself and finding her happily ever after in Prince Sebsatian.
Cinderella features an original storyline by the Academy Award-winning writer, Emerald Fennell. Music and lyrics are by Andrew Lloyd Webber and David Zippel, and Laurence Connor directs. The Cinderella creative team includes scenic and costume design by Gariela Tylesova, lighting design by Bruno Poet, sound design by Gareth Owen, and choreography by JoAnn Hunter.
