Casting announced for As You Like It at the Open Air Theatre
Max Webster directs Shakespeare's play with music from Noah and the Whale's Charlie Fink
Casting has been announced for Max Webster's production of Shakespeare's As You Like It at /theatres/regents-park-open-air-theatre this summer.
Olivia Vinall and Edward Hogg will play Rosalind and Orlando, and they will be joined by Keziah Joseph and Beruce Khan as Celia and Oliver, Danny Kirranne as Touchstone and Maureen Beattie as Jaques.
Following their work on Dr. Seuss' The Lorax at The Old Vic, Webster collaborates once again with Noah and the Whale songwriter Charlie Fink, who has written original compositions for the production.
The cast features a number of actor/singers, including: Amy Booth-Steel (Audrey/Singer), Me'sha Bryan (Amiens/Singer), Joanne McGuinness (Phoebe/Singer), Jacade Simpson (Silvius/Singer), Jack Beale (Le Beau/Actor Musician) and Silas Wyatt-Barke (William/Actor Musician).
Simon Armstrong (Duke Fredrick/Duke Senior), Gary Lilburn (Adam/Martext), Kristian Phillips (Charles the Wrestler/Jaques De Boys) and John Stahl (Corin) complete the cast.
As You Like It runs at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre from 6th to 28th. Tickets are available now.
Olivia Vinall recently starred in the BBC One adaptation of The Woman in White, and her previous theatre credits include he Chekhov Trilogy (Chichester/National Theatre).
Edward Hogg has appeared at Shakespeare's Globe in productions of Romeo and Juliet, The God of Soho, Measure for Measure and The Tempest. His credits also include Our Class and The Pillowman at the National.
Maureen Beattie has appeared extensively for the RSC, but has recently appeared on stage in The Ferryman (Royal Court/Gielgud), Yerma (Young Vic) and Neaptide (National Theatre).
The production will also have designs by Naomi Dawson, movement by Polly Bennett, lighting design by Lee Curran, sound design by Gareth Fry, casting by Lotte Hines and musical direction and arrangements by Phil Bateman.
As You Like It is at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre from 6th to 28th July.
