‘But I’m A Cheerleader: The Musical’ to return to London
The coming-of-age musical heads back to the Turbine Theatre.

Based on the 1999 movie of the same name, But I’m A Cheerleader follows Megan, a seemingly picture-perfect high school cheerleader who is sent to a conversion therapy camp. While at camp, she discovers her sexuality and falls for a rebellious tomboy named Graham.
But I’m A Cheerleader: The Musical premiered at MTFestUK in 2019, and received its first full-length engagement in spring 2022.
The But I'm A Cheerleader cast includes Jessica Aubrey as Megan, Megan Hill as Graham, Louis Amir Hook as Jalal, Kenneth Avery Clark as Dad/Larry, Inez Budd as Sinead, Georgina Hagen as Mary Brown, Freddie Love as Mom/Lloyd, Michael Mather as Jared/Rock, Patrick Munday as Dolph, Julian Quijano as André, Noel Sullivan as Mike, Ash Weir as Kimberly/Hilary, and Ciaran Spencer and Josie Kemp as the Super Cheerleaders.
But I'm A Cheerleader has a book and lyrics by Bill Augustin, music by Andrew Abrams, and direction by Tania Azevedo. In a review on London Theatre, our critic said: “Bill Augustin and Andrew Abrams’s original score sprinkles all the right levels of preppiness and humour throughout the show.
The show features choreography by Alexzandra Sarmiento, set and costume design by David Shields, lighting design by Martha Godfrey, and sound design by Christ Whybrow.
