‘Back to the Future’ original cast album announced
The album will be released in summer 2021, in line with the show's West End premiere.
On what's considered to be Back To The Future Day, a cast recording of the musical adaptation of Back to the Future has been announced. The original cast recording will be released next year, along with the West End premiere of Back to the Future at the Adelphi Theatre.
Ahead of the premiere, you can listen to "Back In Time" sung by Olly Dobson today. Back to the Future features new music by Alan Silvestri and lyrics by Glen Ballard, as well as songs from the movie including "Johnny B. Goode" and "The Power of Love".
Olly Dobson plays Marty McFly, alongside Roger Bart as Dr. Emmett Brown. The cast includes Hugh Coles as George McFly, Rosanna Hyland as Lorraine Baines, Cedric Neal as Goldie Wilson, Aidan Cutler as Biff Tannen and Courtney-Mae Briggs as Jennifer Parker.
Based on the 1985 film of the same name, Back to the Future follows Marty and Doc Brown as they travel back to 1955 in a time-travelling DeLorean automobile. Changing the course of history, the pair must resolve their issues to send themselves back to the real world. A 1989 sequel saw the pair travel forward to 21 Oct. 2015, a day which has now become synonymous with the movie franchise.
Back to the Future received its world premiere at Manchester Opera House in February 2020. The musical will transfer to London's Adelphi Theatre in August 2021, with Back to the Future tickets on sale now.
