‘A Strange Loop’ announces initial West End cast
Kyle Ramar Freeman, who previously played Usher on Broadway, will make his London debut in Michael R. Jackson's Pulitzer Prize-winning musical at the Barbican.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning A Strange Loop musical follows Usher, a Black queer writer in New York City. By day, he works front of house at The Lion King on Broadway. He’s also ghostwriting a new Tyler Perry play. As Usher navigates a white, heteronormative world, a six-person ensemble voice his thoughts.

Kyle Ramar Freeman will play Usher. He previously understudied the role on Broadway. The Thoughts will be played by Sharlene Hector (Thought 1,) Jason Pennycooke (Thought 2,) Tendai Humphreey Sitima (Thought 4,) Danny Bailey (Thought 5,) Eddie Elliot (Thought 6,) with further casting to be announced.
A Strange Loop will be at the Barbican.
