9 to 5 extends at the Savoy Theatre to 2020
It has been announced that 9 to 5 will be extended at the Savoy Theatre, with a booking period to April 2020.
Based on the 1980 film of the same name, the musical follows three colleagues who work together, formulating a plan to get rid of their boss, who they deem egotistical and sexist. The musical features original music by Dolly Parton, including "9 to 5", "Backwoods Barbie" and "Get Out and Stay Out".
The West End premiere of 9 to 5 opened at the Savoy Theatre in February 2019, with Louise Redknapp joining the cast in March after an injury forced her to temporarily withdraw from the production.
9 to 5 will now play for an extended booking period through to 4th April 2020.
The cast of 9 to 5 currently stars Redknapp as Violet Newstead, Amber Davies as Judy Bernly, Natalie McQueen as Doralee Rhodes, Bonnie Langford as Roz Keith and Brian Conley as President Franklin Hart Jr.
Later this year, a touring production of 9 to 5 will run concurrently with the West End show, opening at the Alexandra Theatre Birmingham in September and visiting eleven cities before closing at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre in Dublin in November.
In a review for LondonTheatre.co.uk, Mark Shenton said 9 to 5 is a production that is "bang up-to-date - and a smart, fast brand-new production also pitches it with supreme confidence that's full of both wit and grit."
9 to 5 is at the Savoy Theatre, with an extended booking period to 4th April 2020.
9 to 5 tickets are available now.
