Born in Southend-on-Sea in 1980, Lara Pulver is an Olivier Award-winning actress. On stage, she’s best known for her highly-praised performance in Gypsy. She has also appeared in numerous television series.

Growing up in a theatrical family, Pulver attended the National Youth Music Theatre from 1994 to 1998, later training professionally at Bird College. She starred in Parade at the Donmar Warehouse as Lucille Frank, receiving an Olivier nomination in 2008 for Best Actress in a Musical. After the London run, she reprised her performance in Parade in Los Angeles opposite T. R. Knight.

In 2014, she was cast as Louise opposite Imelda Staunton in a revival of Gypsy at Chichester Festival which later transferred to the Savoy Theatre. For her performance, she won the Olivier for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical. On television, Pulver has played Erin Watts in the tenth series of Spooks. She also played Irene Adler in Sherlock opposite Benedict Cumberbatch and Andrew Scott.
