David Threlfall first gained acclaim for his role as Smike in The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby, earning both a Tony nomination and an Olivier Award. His stage work included appearances in The Rehearsal and The Enfield Haunting. He won the 2006 Olivier Award for Best Actor in Someone Who'll Watch Over Me.
