Why Am I So Single? was staged at Sadler's Wells in September 2023. Now, the musical's world premiere is at the Garrick Theatre.
Why Am I So Single? in London tells the story of two chronically single friends who endure the struggles of modern dating, including dating apps like Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge. Through comedy, song, and dance, the duo, who are musical theatre writers, procrastinate working on their next show by seeking to answer the titular question: Why are they so single?
As Moss told London Theatre, "It's really about the horror and hilarity of being single, but it's also much more about friendship, loneliness, and love."
As with SIX, the music in Why Am I So Single? truly sets the show apart as it includes a wide variety of genres, including disco, 1930s jazz, and pop. Pairing perfectly with the musical score is the stunning choreography that will have audiences dancing along in their seats.
The masterful cast includes Jo Foster, who was a part of the Sadler's Wells workshop and starred in the West End's & Juliet until 2023. Leesa Tulley, an alternate in the 2022-23 UK tour of SIX, and Noah Thomas, who played the titular role in Everybody's Talking About Jamie in 2021, are also starring in the new musical.
Why Am I So Single? also has an outstanding creative team including choreography by Olivier and Tony Award nominated Ellen Kane, and orchestrations, vocal arrangements, and music supervision by Joe Beighton who was nominated for an Olivier for his work on SIX.
