Vanessa Williams will extend her run as Runway editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada at the Dominion Theatre in London until 18 October.

Best known for her screen roles in Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives, Williams is described in the show as "ruthlessly cut-throat." LondonTheatre.co.uk's critic added: "She has an incredible stage presence, sashaying across the huge stage with an air of superiority, her face haughty and pinched. Williams offers up those famous one-liners ('Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking' and 'By all means move at a glacial pace, you know how that thrills me') with a withering look."

Also continuing in the show are Olivier Award winner Matt Henry (Kinky Boots; The Drifters Girl) as Nigel, Georgie Buckland (Shrek The Musical; Bedknobs and Broomsticks) as Andy, Amy Di Bartolomeo (SIX; We Will Rock You) as Emily (for which she has received an Olivier Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical), and James Darch (Mamma Mia!; Wicked) as Christian.

Rhys Whitfield will temporarily leave the show, with Jamie Bogyo (Moulin Rouge!; Aspects of Love) starring as Nate for a limited season from 27 March.

Completing the cast are Maddy Ambus, Gabby Antrobus, Selena Barron, Pamela Blair, Robertina Bonano, Josh Damer-Jennings, Lloyd Davies, Elishia Edwards, Akeem Ellis-Hyman, Jinny Gould, Natasha Heyward, Samuel How, Luke Jackson, Emma Johnson, Debbie Kurup, Nathan Lorainey-Dineen, Liam Marcellino, Ciro Lourencio Meulens, Theo Papoui, Christopher Parkinson, Eleanor Peach, Ethan Le Phong, Jon Reynolds, Harriet Samuel-Gray, Olivia Saunders, Brandon Lee Sears, Joshua Steel, Kayleigh Thadani, Ella Valentine, and Tara Yasmin.

Based on Lauren Weisberger’s 2003 novel and the 2006 film starring Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt, The Devil Wears Prada musical follows the fortunes of aspiring journalist Andy, who goes through a baptism of fire when she lands a job as second assistant to the formidable editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly at Runway Magazine.
