Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) will be running at the Kiln Theatre for eight weeks, from 9 November to 23 December 2023.

Dujonna Gift (Hamilton, Mowtown: The Musical) and Olivier Award-winner Sam Tutty (Dear Evan Hansen, Once On This Island) will star in this new British musical, previously titled The Season, which has enjoyed successful runs in Northampton and Ipswich.

Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) is written by Jim Barne and Kit Buchan and will be directed by Tim Jackson.

The creative team features set and costume designer Soutra Gilmour, lighting designer Jack Knowles, sound designer Tony Gayle, musical director Sean Green, and orchestrations by Lux Pyramid.

The musical follows Dougal, a naive Brit flying to New York for his father's second wedding. Picking him up at the airport is the bride's sister, Robin, a pragmatic New Yorker racing through life. Amidst the bustling energy of the city's holiday season and the impending extravagant wedding, the pair begin to form an unlikely connection.
