Agatha Christie’s thriller The Mousetrap celebrated its 30,000th performance in the West End on 19 March, earning a certificate from Guinness World Records for the record title longest theatrical run. The production opened in the West End in 1952, moving to its current home the St Martin's Theatre in 1974.
The classic whodunnit follows a group of seven strangers, who find themselves snowed in at the remote countryside guesthouse Monkswell Manor. When a police sergeant arrives, the group discovers a killer is among them. But who is it?
Brian Fenty, Producer of The Mousetrap, said: “As The Mousetrap celebrates its record-shattering 30,000th performance, I’m reminded daily of the timeless genius behind Agatha Christie’s work and her landmark Whodunnit. It’s an honour to carry forward this legacy, proof that remarkable storytelling can unite audiences across generations—and endure for decades to come.”
