The Last Five Years to return to Southwark Playhouse in the fall

The production had a brief run last Spring but was closed due to COVID-19 restrictions.

UPDATE: The Last Five Years will now play for an extended run at Southwark Playhouse, with performances now scheduled to November 14th. Molly Lynch and Oli Higginson will return to their roles of Cathy and Jamie.

Jason Robert Brown's award-winning musical The Last Five Years will return to the Southwark Playhouse to continue its run, after the production was cut short in March due to the closure of theatres as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Southwark Playhouse will reopen its doors with The Last Five Years in a reduced capacity auditorium and socially-distanced cast and audience members

The hit two-person musical about the unfolding of a relationship is known for its score and unconventional plot structure. Cathy tells her story in reverse, starting with the end of their turbulent relationship, whilst Jamie tells his story chronologically from the spark of their initial meeting. The two characters meet only once, at their wedding in the middle of the show.

This revived production, originally directed by Jonathon O'Boyle, will open to previews on 1 October and will run for four weeks through to 31 October.

Casting for the musical will be announced for a later date.
